Have a great Canada Day everyone.
We'll be celebrating with friends and family at the Salmonfest,
hope to see ya there.
To all our valued clients and friends.
As many of you may have noticed our blog has been left to spin neglected on the old intraweb for the last few months. We had a busy year as always and were stuck by a major family loss last fall. Steph's dad passed away in November after battling his illness in the hospital for a few months. We continued to shoot weddings during this time and these happy celebrations were a welcome relief from the everyday struggles. Our amazing clients who were waiting for their wedding photos were understanding beyond belief. Unfortunately the blog wasn't top priority. But now we will be belatedly posting all our weddings from the middle of last summer on.
Here is a quick slideshow in memory of Steph's Dad. We miss you Herbie.
I shot these a few months ago when our good friends Steve and Lindsey were over for dinner. I am Nash's godfather so I have shot lots of images of him during his first few years. Well like many second kids Dane was getting left out so I made sure to shoot some portraits the next time we saw them. We got a few priceless shots.
Dane is cute, quiet and just loves to check out the world with his big beautiful eyes.
Here is another cute one.
Here is a shot of Nash, looks cute and harmless too right. We thought we would get some nice shots of the brothers together.
Then we get this beauty, probably one of my fav shots I have ever taken. Don't worry no babies were harmed in the shooting of this picture. Check out that technique we might have a futre MMA fighter on our hands. Anyways this is why I stick to weddings, way less chance of a fight breaking out.
Well I'm a bit of a bad son. Worked a great wedding last night and didn't get to bed until real late. Skipped golf with Dad this morning but hopefully will make it up with a great dinner tonight. You know how everyone thinks they have the best Dad when there like 5 years old, well I did then and I still do. When I was a real little guy like all other kids I started playing soccer, it's usually the first sport kids get involved in. Well my Dad had played and excelled in almost every sport growing up except soccer. Of course a few years in there weren't enough coaches so who volunteers but my Dad. I remember him going to the library taking out a book about "How to Teach Soccer". He read about the "instep pass" and was teaching it the next week. How many parents would have done that? My Dad would have way rather taught me hockey, baseball, rugby, football, heck even karate. The funny thing was I played soccer for 5 more years and pretty much hated it, I just did it cause all my friends played. Let's just say soccer isn't the best sport for short guys who can't run. The only good thing was the oranges at halftime. When I started playing football it was like a light from the heavens shining down, here was a sport where I had to run exactly one yard and hit the guy in front of me as hard as possible, perfect.
As I grew up Dad was always quietly there supporting everything I did and times really haven't changed. We are currently renovating a house together on the US side of the okanogan valley. It is a 1910 farmhouse and a heck of a lot of work but a lot of fun at the same time. So happy fathers day Dad. Heres to many more.
Some old pics of us growing up. Love the black and white of him and Denise as well as the old fathers day picture. Other than a little grey hair he pretty much looks the same now.
