Be Inspired - Hundreds of Wedding Ideas 28.03.2009 | Weddings, Products

Ideas and Inspiration

If you like the above pics I have a blog you are going to absolutely love. Only check out www.greylikesweddings.wordpress.com if you have some serious time to waste because there are so many ideas about everything to do with wedding. all presented in a fun chic site. I'll let the blogs author Summer tell you herself.

Dearest Reader,

I’d like to take a moment to introduce myself and my rather delightful little obsession with pretty things. I’m sure you know there is no other event on this earth quite like a wedding, which is a day where we pack as many pretty things into it as possible. I am, therefore, totally hooked.

As a floral and wedding designer and consultant, I love to discover, document and share the best wedding ideas out there. Weddings are the uniquely unequivocal opportunity for us to act extravagantly…where it is okay to walk around with a big bunch of flowers in your hand, make all your friends wear the same dress and be the absolute center of attention.

Weddings transcend reality because they represent so much more than cakes and champagne toasts. They combine a sacred union, dance party, family reunion, extravagant meal and fashion show all into one. That being said, it is a huge blast planning a wedding…whether it is for yourself, your sister, your mom, or your best friend.

All that to say, whether you are a DIY bride who wants to infuse her wedding with homemade wonders, a bride who yearns for pearls, satin and pink peonies, a faithful maid of honor, a wedding designer, or even a lover of pretty things, I hope this blog can inspire you.

Lastly, thank you for coming to this blog. Please come back, if you are so inclined. And please, if it isn’t too much to ask, tell your friends about Grey Likes Weddings. (That is if you like coming here and it pleases you to do so). We would love to have lots of friends. Feedback and comments are much obliged.

Best Regards,

Summers

I picked up a few cute gifts for Steph on here and I didn't even have to leave the keyboard. Bonus points with no work, sweet.

I nice little clutch in her favourite colours.

And a love note with a little paper crane.

Maybe a little something for your fiance, he'll like it even more with a bottle of Scotch or maybe a new pitching wedge.

Angela & Doug's Album 28.03.2009 | Products

This is an example of one of our flushmount wedding albums. We use "Finao" exclusively for wedding albums. The quality is second to none and there are a huge array of cover material choices, cover openings, sizes and printing options. These are heirloom quality pieces that will be treasured for generations and will stand the test of time. Angie chose a white leather album with a teal accent strip to match the Carribean feel of their wedding. Beacuse the album was 70 pages we decided on the magazine style pages, which are thinner than the standard pages. This book was heavy the way it was, if we had went with standard pages we would have had to split the album into two books.

Modern look with a square spine. We also offer a more traditional rounded spine.

Actual prints from the book. We used lustre paper which is not glossy but smoother than matte. It is definitely our number one choice for wedding albums.

We chose to go with the creased print for the full panorama look. You also have the choice of cut pages with a split down the middle.

This was the image we chose for the cover cutout.

The first page.

And so on....

A stunning bride.

The first look.

The ceremony

Family shots are still important to include in the album.

I love this spread. Cool and casual.

The moment they walked onto the beach for the reception it started to pour rain harder than I have ever seen in my life. It felt like quarters dropping on your head. Doung and Angie are such an easy going couple they just rolled wth the punches and moved the reception under cover.

The final page and maybe my favourite dance shot ever.

This was a massive wedding album, much larger than we usually make but I think it turned out great.

Coal Harbour Engagement Session - Vashuda and Vik 28.03.2009 | Engagements

Vasudha and Vik

Our first engagement session of the year, and it was a blast, literally. We had a great time but it was a blustery Vancouver winter day. The guys always get off a little easier on these cold days, because they get to sport pants and a jacket. The girls always want to wear a cute dress and then realize it is freezing. Vic was only in from London for one weekend so it was shoot rain or shine. Luckily the sun held and Vasudha was amazing, all smiles all day. We shot at Coal Harbour and in Gastown which are two of my favourtie Vancouver locations, lots of texture and urban landscapes. While processing these images I remembered that during the consultation Vasudha said she wanted pictures with an organic feel that really captured emotion. I think we nailed the look in post, and can't wait to be a part of their multi day wedding this summer!

This first shot is definitely my favourite of the session. Great emotion.

Same shot, just cropped closer with different processing.

Such a cool spot to shot, love the shape. This image has been requested by so many couple for a few years now and it almost always turns out great. Really cold on the bum though.

Love the lens flair, so romantic.

From coal harbour to gastown.

A few of us...... 25.03.2009 | Personal

Our first post on our new blog had to be a few shots of us. We spend so much time shooting other people in love sometimes it's important to turn the camera around. These were shot just after our last little snow storm with the help of a sturdy tripod and a self timer. It's so hard to hold a smile or a serious look for 10 seconds so we just burst into goofiness when our cheeks started to hurt. Make sure to stay tuned to the blog for all our recent shoots as well as so much stuff from last season that we haven't posted yet.

How cute is this shot of Steph.

Ahhh...

This is our best "Blue Steel". We don't really do serious too well.

These are more our style.
